Wow! There was certainly magic in the air at St Thomas of Canterbury Church last night as the Ilford Magical Sociey’s magicians travelled to Grays.
During the first part of the evening, ten magicians performed close-up magic to entertain over one hundred people at the Church’s first magic show. The audience clapped and laughed throughout the magic as magician after magician baffled them with magic that took place right before their eyes.
Michael Wilkie opened the second half of the show with his colourful silent act and after the applause had died down, Paul Clancy took to the stage to keep the audience amazed. Paul performed a variety of tricks and finished with his competition winning effect, the Selbit Blocks. Last, but not least, Mark Mchawi continued to baffle the audience with his own brand of mind reading and mentalism.
A big thank you to compere Brian Fisher who kept the evening moving at a pace and ensured that everyone – audience and magicians alike – had a thoroughly enjoyable evening that helped raise almost £800 towards the church’s restoration fund.
